1ST GRADE CURRICULUM

We offer a combined classroom setting for the 1st & 2nd graders. It provides opportunities for both classes to hear the other’s material and review or get a jump start on next year. 

 

We use a Classical Christian Education Model 

Bible: One In Christ 1 (Concordia) 

Catechism: Learn by Heart 

Reading/Literature: A Beka 1 

Shurly Grammar & Composition 

Comp/ Spelling & Vocabulary: A Beka Spelling & Poetry 1 

Math: Saxon 2 

History & Geography: A Beka My America, My World 

Science: Enjoying God’s World  A Beka

Art: Drawing with Children & 1st Grade art cards 

Music: 2 times per week 

P.E. 2 times per week
