Letter From the Headmaster
Welcome to Zion Lutheran School!
Dear Parents and Families for School Year, 2023-2024
It is a great pleasure to welcome you and your family to Zion Lutheran School (ZLS), and into the Zion Lutheran School family. Our hope is that it will become a second family for you and your children as they begin their new school year. We rejoice that you have heard God’s call to commit your children to Classical Lutheran education.
Christ is the beginning and end of everything we do at Zion Lutheran School. We teach every subject from the Christian worldview, for we believe that what we teach and how we teach affects our children.
As we partner with parents, we look expectantly to the Lord for guidance in developing practices that reflect good biblical character qualities and diligent studies to provide a firm foundation for our students to retain for the remainder of their formative years and adult life.
We pledge that with the help of God, we will aid you, “To raise your children in the way they should go, that when they are old they will not depart from it”. (Proverbs 22:6)
As parents, we ask you to pledge that you will get your children to school on time each day, that you make sure homework is completed and reinforced, and that you will do your best to stay abreast of what is going on in school. Some of the many ways that we’ll keep you informed is through bimonthly ZLS newsletters, Classroom newsletters, Parent Teacher Fellowship (PTF) meetings, our ZLS website, ZLS remind text messages and our parent information board in the foyer of the school.
As students, we ask you to pledge that you will do your very best in all things and show respect, order, unity, diligence, and honesty while at school and at home.
It is the responsibility of teachers and staff of Zion Classical Lutheran School to nurture children spiritually, intellectually, physically, emotionally, and socially under the direction of the Word of God.
Zion Lutheran School has a great calendar of ZLS and PTF events each month throughout the school year, that showcase our student’s God given talents and hard work, provide service and support to our community, and provide great fellowship amongst our ZLS family.
This will require your dedication and support to ZLS and the PTF, just as our dedicated, loving, and supportive staff provide each and every day.
By the grace and mercy of God, SY 2023-2024 will be a great year!
In Christ,
Mrs. Joan Alverson
Headmaster (Interim)
