Home/School Partnership Hybrid
Zion Lutheran Classical School was established in response to the clear mandate from God to teach our children to know and walk in the ways of the Lord. Our role is to support our parents in the education of their children. We do this in two ways: full-time Classical Christian schooling or our new Partnership Homeschooling program. Our Home/School Partnership program supports and partners with Treasure Valley homeschooling families of children in grades 2-7.
HOW THE PROGRAM WORKS
Students attend Zion two day a week in their grade level, and then have the blessing of working at home with their parents the other days. Parents will be given a syllabus of the daily “home work” to be completed for class as well as a detailed account of the content covered in class each week. We hope this provides great help to homeschooling parents and students. Students get to go to school, following the same academic plan as their five-day peers, and also work at home with their parents! The best of both worlds.
Students in the Home/School Partnership receive instruction in:
Math * Latin * Literature * Music * English * History * Science * Art (optional)
At-school days for Partnership students in all grades will be Tuesday, Thursday, and they may join their class for Art class on Wednesday afternoon. Students join their Full-Time peers in their respective class.*
The school day begins at 8:00 a.m. and ends at 3:00 p.m. from the end of August through May. *We may split out Home/School Partnership students into their own classes (except for large-group subjects such as Choir) on an as-needed basis dependent on enrollment. Home/School Partnership days may vary if enrollment requires multiple classes to share a room.
WHAT DOES TUITION COVER? DO WE STILL BUY OR OWN CURRICULUM?
Tuition covers teacher instruction two days per week. Like full-time students, books are covered by the registration fee. Most consumable materials (such as pencils, journals, workbooks) will be the responsibly of the student to bring or have a home for at-home study. A supply list will be provided. Families will also need to purchase a school uniform that is worn on at-school days.
