5TH GRADE CURRICULUM

We offer a combined classroom setting for the 5th, 6th and 7th graders. Small class sizes lends itself to a lot of hands on group and individual projects. Students excel in this classical environment. The students strengthen their study habits while learning to work independently and in groups. Study skills that will be strengthened include note taking, study guides, organizational skills and time management all of which will benefit the student in the coming years.

Bible: One In Christ 5 (Concordia) 

Catechism: Learn by Heart 

Reading/Literature: Fifth Grade Lit– Great Books 

English Grammar & Composition: Shurley English 5 + IEW excellence in writing 

Comp/ Spelling & Vocabulary: A Beka Spelling & Poetry 5 

Math: Saxon 5 

History & Geography: AIG– History Revealed: Romans, Reformers, Revolutionaries 

Science: A Beka Investigating God’s World 

Latin: Memoria Press Latina Christiana 2 & Famous Men of Rome 

Art: Drawing for Older Children 

Music: 2 times per week 

P.E. 2 times per week
