WHY CHOOSE A CLASSICAL EDUCATION?

A Classical Curriculum is traditionally Christian and gears teaching toward the natural learning processes of young minds. This curriculum melds seamlessly with our already excellent biblical and religious courses, stimulates and challenges students academically, and helps develop critical thinking skills that are frequently lacking in today’s society.

ABOUT MRS. WOLLMAN
WHY I BECAME A TEACHER
  • I was born in Rupert, Idaho- the last of 7 children! My parents raised us in a strong Christian family where worship and fellowship with other Christians was a top priority.

  • I was taught from the beginning about Jesus’ love and salvation to all people.

  • It became very real to me in 7th grade when a wonderful teacher laid God’s plan of salvation out for me and I understood the sacrifice Christ made for all of us.

  • I continued to grow in God’s love, and I decided to go on to college to become a Lutheran teacher.

  • Even though I had never attended a Lutheran school, I saw that Lutheran Schools would provide me a place where I could share Jesus with others.

EDUCATION

  • BA in Elementary Education from Concordia University, Portland, OR

EXPERIENCE

  • Approaching 23 years of teaching at Zion Lutheran School.  I’ve taught 1-7th grades at different times.

  • I worked for 6 years at Micron Technology in Boise.

  • Taught English in Japan for 1 ½ years.

FAMILY AND OUTSIDE INTERESTS

  • My husband, Joe, and I have been married 22 years.

  • We have two children, Hunter and Hailey.  Both of our children attended Zion.

  • I enjoy gardening, reading, and traveling.

WHY I TEACH AT ZION

  • I have always loved the ministry of Zion.

  • Our school has never veered from the central message of God’s love and salvation to a world that desperately needs Him.

  • That message walks hand in hand with challenging our students academically to realize their potential.

CLASSROOM MISSION STATEMENT

  • Teaching in a classical school is a great challenge for me. I am constantly looking for new ways to present materials to my students, and I am always searching to challenge these children to grow in their faith and in their academics. I enjoy watching my students explore and stretch in their education. I have great visions of the future of these Christian children as they will someday influence and make contributions to our community and our country.
